Name and intent
“Stará vrstva” — the old layer — describes how we see interiors: previous decades remain visible beneath careful contemporary edits. Piece dimensions and stair access decide what can enter the flat realistically.
Background
The atelier formed after years of assisting collectors who bought well but arranged poorly. Rooms felt crowded yet unfinished; we stepped in to compose.
Clients
Flat owners in Praha 1–3, families inheriting furniture from Bohemian relatives, and newcomers who purchase vintage rather than new sets. Restoration priorities are ranked so spending follows structural need first.
Limits of our role
We design integration and placement. We are not a licensed heritage authority, though we work carefully in listed buildings and defer to required permits.
Working language
Consultations run in English or Czech. Written proposals for international clients are prepared in English as on this site.
